Privacy Policy

Solace Nights is run by Ashley Knight, trading as Solace Nights, who is responsible for the information described here. Questions or requests: [email protected].

• Your account: your email address, a password (stored only as a secure hash by our database provider), the date and time you signed up, your time zone (read from your browser so each day starts at your local midnight), and the date and version of this policy you agreed to.
• How you found us: if you arrived from a link with campaign tags, the traffic source, those campaign tags and a random visitor ID, saved in your browser when you first visited.
• Your answers in the program:your answers to the day 1 questionnaire (including your age range and, if you choose to give it, your sex), your morning sleep diary (bedtime, rise time and how the night felt), your answers to each morning's recap, and anything you type in your own words.
• Health screening answers:the questionnaire asks whether certain health conditions or kinds of work apply to you, so we can tell you if the program isn't a good fit. We use these answers only for that.
• What you do in the app:which day you're on, which steps you completed and when, and which experiments you were given and how you answered about them.

• To run the program: unlock each day, pick your experiments, show your recaps and results, and remember your answers.
• To send you emails you need for the program, such as the morning reminder to log your night. You can turn reminders off at any time.
• To learn whether the program works and improve it, by looking at answers and activity across everyone who takes part.
• To keep the service secure and fix problems.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use your health or sleep answers for advertising.

• Supabase stores your account and your answers (United States).
• Vercel hosts the website and app; Cloudflare protects it. Both handle request details such as your IP address and browser to deliver the site.
• Mixpanelreceives a record of what you do in the app (for example “completed day 2's recap”) linked to your account and email, and your multiple-choice questionnaire answers. It does not receive your diary times, anything you type, or your health screening answers.
• Customer.io receives the same records so it can send your program emails at the right time.
• PostHog receives the same records, so we can see how the app is used and improve it. It also records how you move through the app and our sign-up pages (taps, scrolling and which screens you visit) with everything you type and every answer on screen hidden. It sees your IP address, which it uses to estimate your country and city.
• Meta (Facebook and Instagram): if you came from one of our ads, we tell Meta that a sign-up happened, so we can see which ads work. We send Meta nothing else: no answers, no diary, no activity.
• Google Ads: if you came from one of our Google ads, we tell Google that you visited our landing page and, if you create an account, that a sign-up happened, so we can see which ads work. We send Google nothing else: no email, no answers, no diary, no activity.
• Google Workspace handles email you send to support.

Each provider handles your information under its own data-protection terms. Our providers are in the United States and may process information in other countries.

We keep you signed in with a cookie that lasts up to 30 days from your last visit. We also store a random visitor ID, the traffic source and any campaign tags from your first visit for up to one year. The landing page and the sign-up quiz use Mixpanel in your browser to measure visits, and PostHog in your browser records how the app and sign-up pages are used, with your answers hidden. Our landing pages also load Google's ad tag, which uses Google's own cookies to link a sign-up to the ad you came from; the app itself does not load it.

We keep your account and answers while your account exists. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete it and everything stored with it, and ask Mixpanel, PostHog and Customer.io to delete what they hold about you. Support email is kept only as long as needed to answer it.

You can ask to see, correct, download or delete your information, or withdraw your agreement to this policy (which closes your account), by emailing [email protected]. We may need to check the request comes from you. Asking won't affect your account.

Solace Nights is a wellness program. It is not medical care and does not diagnose or treat any condition. If you are worried about your health, talk to a doctor.

If you joined our earlier waitlist, we hold your email, the time you joined and how you found us, and use them only to tell you about Solace Nights. The Solace Nights iOS app keeps its diary on your device and sends us nothing.

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will post the new version here with a new date and email you before it takes effect.
